eMule is a free peer-to-peer file sharing application for Microsoft Windows. eMule is a free, open source peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing client based on the eDonkey protocol. its popularity has led to eMule’s codebase being used as the basis of cross-platform clients aMule, JMule, xMule, along with the release of many eMule mods (modifications of the original eMule) on the Internet.   In Windows 7:

1. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

  • Reboot the computer, and then press the F8 key as soon as you see the Windows’ logo appearing, select the regular Safe Mood and press Enter key.

2. Quit all the processes of eMule in Task Manager

  • Launch the Windows Task Manager by pressing shortcuts Ctrl +Alt +Delete;
  • Select the target process of eMule running in Manager;

  • Hit “End Task” to shout down.

3. Launch the Control Panel to uninstall

  • Click Start, go to Control Panel, and double-click Programs and Features.
  • Scroll down the list and select eMule, and then click Uninstall.

  • Click Uninstall in the pop-up windows, wait for a second to click Close to finish removal;

  • Reboot your PC Now / Later.

4. Remove the eMule registry keys and values

  • Click on Start button in the lower left corner, type “regedit” in the menu search box
  • And press Enter on your keyboard.
  • The Registry Editor will be opened with another window, delete this folder:

KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eMule

  • On the navigator click Edit > Find…, and type “eMule” to search for remaining files;
  • Delete them to completely uninstall eMule.

In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1:

1. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

  • Access the Run dialogue by pressing the Windows + R keys, type “msconfig” and click on OK.
    Click the Boot tab in the System Configuration interface, check the “Safe boot” box and click on OK.
  • Then your computer will boot into Safe Mode after it restarts

2. Quit all the processes of eMule in Task Manager

  • Launch the Windows Task Manager by pressing shortcuts Ctrl +Alt +Delete;
  • Select the target process of eMule running in Manager;

3. Launch the Control Panel to uninstall

  • Click the Start menu, then Programs and Features

4. To remove the eMule registry keys

  • Press and hold Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the charms bar;
  • Select Search, type “regedit” in the box, and press Enter key;

In Windows 10:

1. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

  • Press Windows logo key Windows logo key + I on your keyboard to open Settings.
  • Select Update & security > Recovery.
  • Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
  • After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • After your PC restarts, you’ll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode.
  • Or if you’ll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

2. Quit all the processes of eMule in Task Manager

  • Launch the Windows Task Manager by pressing shortcuts Ctrl +Alt +Delete;
  • Select the target process of eMule running in Manager;

  • Right click Start, then click Apps and Features;
  • Scroll down the list and select eMule, and then click Uninstall;

4. To remove the eMule registry keys

  • On the taskbar there is a Search Box, enter “regedit” to open the Registry Editor;
  • Delete this folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eMule

  • Then on the navigator click Edit > Find…,
  • Enter “eMule” to search for possible remaining files;
  • Delete them to completely uninstall eMule.
