Click on the white Gears icon, ensure that you have enabled the below options for Scan Preferences: “Scan for threats when opening, saving, or downloading files”, “Check if programs try to make unauthorized changes to system settings that could threaten your security”, “Prevent programs on portable drives from launching automatically”, “Check for suspicious computer behavior and remove the programs involved”, and “Display a warning after detecting viruses, spyware, or suspicious behavior”. And for common users, you select the “Normal” option (“Choose ‘Normal’ for regular daily use without aggressively blocking minor risks.”) for this Controls.
  4. Now, click the Spam & Emailed Files, you apply the “Filter out unsolicited advertisements and other unwanted email messages” option and “Check for threats in files attached to email message” option for it.
  5. Make sure that you’ve applied the “Activate the Firewall Booster to enhance the protection given by the Windows Firewall and detect botnet programs that can hijack your computer by remote control” option for Network section.
  6. In the Other Settings, you first apply the “Balanced Protection (Only some security software drivers will load when the computer starts to reduce delays)” for the System Startup; apply the “Use a proxy server to connect the Internet – Use Internet Explorer proxy settings” for Proxy Settings; to prevent Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2012 from being modified unintentionally, you apply the “Enable password protection to prevent unauthorized changes.
