PART ONE: Please use the following information to uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate on your Windows 8, Windows 7 and/or other Windows OSs you’re running.
To fully uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5, I need to exactly know the installed programs on my Win8 system:
- Settings: Choose the features and languages that you want to install:
- Corel PaintShop Pro X5 (Main Program)
- Languages: English (by default)/Traditional Chinese/German/Spanish/French/Italian/Janpanese/Dutch/Polish/Russian/Finnish
- Miscellaneous: Add shortcut to the desktop
- Install Corel PaintShop Pro X5 to:
- c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5 (Note You can forcibly uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate by adding this installation folder to my kindly recommended uninstaller program here.)
- Info: Corel PaintShop Pro X5 will now install. Installation time may vary depending on your computer (317 MB required).
- Options: Choose additional options:
- Product updates: Automatically download product updates and ask me before installing.

(Now my downloaded PSPX5_TBYB30 program starts its express installation.)

Note Optional install option for Google Toolbar. So far, you’ve gotta know that you may have to remove this potentially unwanted Google Toobar from Windows Internet Explorer and restore related settings for it to cleanly uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5.

Note Moreover, to fully uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5, you too need to remove Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 Redistributable, the required components for this new PaintShop suite.

Note "Please wait while we configure Google Chrome and Toolbar …".
Am I ready to properly and successfully uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate? No, not yet! Why? I must save and then close all the personal files via the current active administrator account:
- Well, to uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate without any unexpected data loss, I also recommend that you first click File and then launch the option "Save As…" on the menu – for few advanced users, you can also press the F12 key to save your work.
- I wanna rename my image and then click Save on the following Save As window.
- Then I re-launch the Exit on File menu to quit my Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate.
- Now I need to click the Close on the PaintShop Pro X5 window below cuz I’m running a trial version of it, "We hope you are enjoying your trial! Check out the Resource Center for tips, tutorials, learning videos, free creative content and much more! Visit Resource Center. At any time, you can purchase the full version of this product by clicking the Buy now button.".
- You know I’m going to uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 from my Win8 system, so I choose the option "Remind me next time" from the Install Options Dialog below, "Your update is ready for installation. Install now. The application may need to be closed for installation.".
- Then I open up Control Panel application on my desktop and Uninstall a program (under Programs entry). Now, I detect the following installed programs in Uninstall or change a program list – but I do not see the installed Google Toolbar:
- Corel PaintShop Pro X5 (Publisher, Corel Corporation; Size, 154 MB; Product version, 15.1.0.10; Help link: http://www.corel[dot]com/corel/pages/index.jsp?pgid=…)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (Publisher, Microsoft Corporation; Size, 4.99 MB; Product version, 8.0.56336)

- To automatically uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5, then I directly press the Enter key on my keyboard. If you are using a Windows XP SP3 machine, you can click Uninstall/Change button next to it.
- To fully uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5 and its potentially unused data, I apply the option "Clear all personal settings in Corel PaintShop Pro X5" and click Remove on the following Corel PaintShop Pro X5 wizard, "Are you sure you want to completely remove Corel PaintShop Pro X5 and all of its features?".
- Then Corel PaintShop Pro X5 below informs me that "Preparing. Please wait …", "28% Complete – Configuring Corel PaintShop Pro X5" and more other information.
- Then I follow Corel PaintShop Pro X5 when it tells me "Uninstall complete. Click Finish to exit the wizard.". Having problems completing this task? Please use this uninstall tool instead!
- Now, I go on to remove the two MS Visual programs mentioned above to completely Corel PaintShop Pro X5 – to do this, you just need to highlight them and launch Uninstall option; then please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the un-install progress of them. You can also refer to the Corel PaintShop Pro X3 Uninstall section for more information.
- Then I manually restart my machine; afterwards, I run my Windows Internet Explorer 10 but I just cannot find the aforementioned Google Toolbar and/or Chrome item in it, I guess that the current version of Google Toolbar is not compatible with IE 10. Well, to entirely uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5, I go to the "C:\Program Files" folder in which is most Windows software is installed by default. In it, I find the Google file folder, shown below; plus, I also start the search for Corel-related traces and then I try to delete them manually to archive a complete uninstallation of Corel PaintShop Pro X5.
- Yes, a little bird tells me that I need to FIRST back up the current Registry Editor and remove the associated registry keys of the uninstalled programs mentioned above to thoroughly uninstall Corel PaintShop Pro X5.
- And for the traces of MS Visual programs, I do not dare to perform the manual deletion option for them, Well, I can keep those Windows files on my computer. Wanna cleanly and safely remove them? Please run this professional uninstaller program instead!
