As the subject states, if that’s what you’re expecting, read on. The article provides two different solutions to remove Immunet from your PC, just take your pick.
Immunet is a cloud-based, community-driven antivirus product that uses the ClamAV and own engine. The software is complementary with existing antivirus software, claiming to be fast and to provide up-to-date protection against threats. The virus signature files are stored in the cloud, not on individual computers, so update downloads are not required.
To remove Immunet correctly in Windows, you can follow the instructions below. And the same steps should work on other unwanted programs you wish to remove.
Manual Steps to Remove Immunet in Windows
Directly deleting the folder of the program you wish to remove is not suggested, since without a systematic process or any professional help, you may not achieve the satisfying results. And incomplete removal would bring problems like:
- You still see the program running, but you can’t either shut it down or activate its uninstaller.
- Pop-up messages keep disturbing & saying there is a missing file.
- The memory is being consumed in the background by the corrupted processes of Immunet.
During my long-drawn growth of becoming a qualified IT worker, I’ve bumped in to those situations like hundreds of times. If unfortunately you have started a mistaken uninstall and find no way to remove Immunet, you can try to reinstall Immunet before performing the removal.
Now let’s see how to locate your target in the programs list, which tells you clearly what programs you’re having & able to uninstall. Here are all the steps to go through:
1. If possible, make sure Immunet is not running first.
Shut down the program from the System Tray in the bottom-right corner of your screen, and end every process associated with it in the Task Manager (Press & hold Ctrl + Alt + Del to open). How to forcibly close a program that is not responding?
2. Search for the program.
Press and hold the Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the Charms, and select Search.
3. Locate the program in the Program list.
Type “Immunet” in the box, right-click on the result and select Uninstall.
4. Remove Immunet by activating its default uninstaller.
You’re brought to the Program list. Double-click Immunet to activate its uninstall wizard.
5. Let the built-in uninstall wizard finishes its job.
Confirm this removal and wait for the process to finish.
6. Go to the Registry Editor.
Press and hold the Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the Charms, select Search, and enter “regedit” in the box to open the Registry Editor.
7. Delete the vestiges to completely remove Immunet.
Before doing this, you can choose to Back Up the Registry in case of any mistakes that cause the permanent loss of your data. Then continue the removal:
On the navigator of Registry Editor window, click Edit > Find…, then enter “Immunet” to find the related file(s)/folder(s), right-click it(them) and select Delete.
8. Restart your computer.
If you like, go back to the System Tray, Task Manager or Control Panel and check whether Immunet has been removed.
How to remove Immunet Using Max Uninstaller
This is another option you can take to easily remove Immunet, Google Chrome, and Google Update Helper (if they exist). Only 3 steps you need to go through:
1. Download & install Max Uninstaller.
Since it’s a small-sized tool, the installation would be finished within a minute.
2. Remove Immunet.
Open Max Uninstaller, and you will see clearly what programs you’re having on the computer. Find & select Immunet as your target, then click Run Analysis to scan for all the related files > Hit Complete Uninstall to confirm the removal.
3. Easily find and delete the vestiges of Immunet.
Now you’re deleting its vestiges. Click Scan Leftovers when it turns to green > Hit Delete Leftovers to completely remove Immunet on your PC.
As you can see, all the related pieces gone in the snap of a finger, in the length of a breath, in the blink of an eye. Clicking Back to Step 1 will refresh the programs list, then you can check whether your target has been successfully removed.
