Manually uninstall GSA

If the game was installed properly and you didn’t installed any patch afterwards, you can first try uninstall it via Add/Remove program section or Program and features in Windows 7/Vista

  • Turn off the game of GTA San Andreas and shutting down all the related process
  • Click Start – Control Penal – Add/Remove program for Windows XP/2000, if you are running Windows 7/Vista, click the program and feature option.
  • Locate and highlight GTA San Andreas in the list given.
  • Click Remove/Uninstall button.
  • If everything goes fine, the uninstaller wizard will be activated, follow the instruction to finish the removal.

Possible error message that would crop up during the remove:

Setup has experienced an error
Please do the following
-close any running programs
-empty your temporary folder
-check your internet connection then try to run the setup again error -5001

If you see the above error message, you can try

  • Click Start menu, click run, Type “regedit” into the box and hit OK.
  • Expand locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder
  • Expand Rockstar folder
  • Locate GTA San Andreas folder, delete it.
  • Then back to the Add/Remove section to perform the removal once more.

Before you start to delete the registry key, it is suggested to backup registry first to avoid unexpected trouble, see the instruction below:

  • Open Registry editor.
  • Click Start menu, click run, Type “regedit” into the box and hit OK.
  • click the File menu in the registry editor click Export.
  • Select a location where you want this backup to be saved.
  • Rename the backup file if you want.
  • Click Save to finish the backup
